Just a quick question to raise really quick due to the situation that I
experienced between the two laptops that I have:

Could this problem be related to drivers
I know that things work with wpa_supplicant (I have verified this with two
intel chips: 3945 and the 5100)
With the 5100 the fix worked flawlessly, on the other hand the 3945 did not.
It would only connect every 5 attempts and only for a
couple of min (All on the same network with the same settings, same AP,
same certs, etc. The only thing that changed was the
       laptop hardware)

Just a possibility that there is something driver related in addition to
the NM problems or possibly the interface there with wpa_supplicant, NM,
and drivers. Just a thought
