** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

WIth intrepid, dual head does not work any more on my hp tc4400 tablet
PC (wacom). I tried re-booting with the external screen present, but it
just stays black. Putting back the stuff removed from xorg.conf does not
  work either.

At boot-time, I get a message saying "low-graphics" is used because no
display is found, and an xorg.conf.failsafe is created and used. (My
stylus does not work at all any more. I registered a bug report about
  this earlier.)

+ sudo apt-get --reinstall install xserver-xorg-video-all
+ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
+
+ I no longer get the "(EE) no devices detected" error. The secondary
+ display shows the same as the laptop screen. Trying to add the external
+ screen by hand in xorg.conf does not seem to work, however. How do I set
+ up an external display?
