Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 on a macbook pro 3.1 with an atheros card. When
I login I can successfully make a connection to a wifi signal, however
when I attempt to connect to a different wifi signal it fails. All other
attempts to make a connection fail unless I "sudo modprobe -r ath9k &&
sudo modprobe ath9k". I'm attaching the dmesg output, in short it just
says "wlan0: authentication with AP 00:1c:df:21:b8:63 timed out". I've
tested this with a wpa and unprotected network.
