Tom,

This has been annoying me for awhile but I worked out an alternate
method of doing almost the same thing.  Press Super-E (super = windows
key) to enter Expose mode, then grab the window you want to move and
drop it onto another workspace.  Double-click a workspace to get out of
Expose mode.

It's not as simple or quick as the pre-compiz drag-n-drop but it's
faster than dragging the window across a bunch of workspaces.
