Another bit of info: I think this may happen when Transmission is started with torrents it wants to save to a dir that doesn't exist. I save mine to an external drive that was unplugged at the time of the crashes. Previously, Transmission would just pause all existing torrents and added torrents would just be saved to my home directory.
