Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
ubuntu: 8.10 (Intrepid) package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon package version: 1:6.9.0+git20081003.f9826a56-0ubuntu2 On (re-)starting gdm, the screen goes blank. (Gdm is running correctly. I can also log in, typing my login + password blindly, the login sound tells me it was succesful.) Hardware: ATI Radeon HD 2350 graphics card in an HP Pavillion a6310 (Dual Core E2200), Acer AL1711 monitor (1280x1024). I tried running "Xorg -configure", which worked after i removed the xserver-xorg-video-vga and xserver-xorg-video-nsc packages. After that, i could start X by running "Xorg -config {generated xorg.conf}". However, this only works for 'vesa' or 'fglrx' as the driver in xorg.conf. I include the output of "tail -f /varl/log/Xorg.0.log". This is what i see when i restart gdm. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- radeon driver not working for HD 2350 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
