Got the same problem here, upgraded today (Nov 02), directory was open by mplayer. I thought it was problem with mplayer, I remove Mplayer and directory opened by Movie player. Then I realise it was file association problem as the menu use xdg-open. In addition to put back the right association, I have to clean up many unrelated program in "open with" as well, for example mp3 file open with text editor etc.
