This is also still NOT fixed on my Dell PowerEdge 400SC with the same Samsung SyncMaster 570S TFT display, and an ATI Technologies Inc Rage XL (rev 27) vga controller.
I booted the desktop 8.10 Intrepid CD, as a live CD, and in this case the system booted completely and displayed in 800x600 low-res mode. Once I did that, I was able to copy the xorg.conf file (which I had generated earlier by booting a 7.04 live CD) over the Intrepid version, and then restart X by typing ctrl-alt-BS. Then the display started up in 1024x768 mode, as desired. -- [gutsy] [hardy]No signal with Samsung SyncMaster 750s https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
