The original filing of this bug was with an upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10. I have since performed a full reinstall and even tried to configure my xorg.conf using the nvidia settings tool. In either case, the result was the same segmentation fault.
I should note that when starting X stand-alone it appears works fine with Xinerama enabled. Should I abandon gnome and try switching to kubuntu?
