Okay, too bad I wasn't able to give you the proper information to tackle this bug and taking measures to prevent this bug from ever occurring again with anybody. My 'fix' was when I finally decided to re-install my entire machine a couple of weeks ago (not just because of this issue), and up until now the problem hasn't re-emerged. Let's hope it stays that way.
