Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok
Bug in KDE, manifesting in Amarok 1.4.10 after upgrade to Intrepid (i.e. Ubuntu, not Kubuntu). After upgrading to Intrepid, Amarok stopped being able to detect my music player. When it tries to autodetect it, it gets the message: "No new media devices were found. If you feel this is an error, ensure that the DBUS and HAL daemons are running and KDE was built with support for them. You can test this by running "dcop kded mediamanager fullList" in a Konsole window." When I try to run the above dcop command in a gnome-terminal the output is "failed". However Gnome seems to have no trouble detecting the device because an ipod-like icon appears on the Desktop very soon after I plug it in. What ought to happen: Amarok should be able to detect and use music players as it could in Hardy, even when it has not been launched from within KDE. ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- music player detection broken in amarok after upgrade to Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290864 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
