Public bug reported: My setup is at the moment a bit non standard, but this is what is going on.
Booting grub4dos from vista boot manager, this just loads the menu.lst from my intrepid installation done from the alternative install. I have 3 drives. SATA1 and SATA2 are in a RAID (nvraid) 0 and runs vista, and intrepid on the 3rd drive. During install the system finds all my drives and the raid mapping (/dev/mapper/nvidia_*) but mark them as do not use since I want to install on this third drive. After install, I reboot and get ALERT cannot find /dev/disk/by-uuid/* and after a bit drops to the busybox/initramfs. If I exit this it completes the boot and loads intrepid, but no raid is present. I can get it to load without any interaction in the initramfs if I apply use the rootdelay=130 so that it can give up probing (or what it does) the other drives (I think). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- RAID not detected on nforce 4 ultra https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
