I've now tried a lot of combinations of HAL quirk, with no success at
all so far. However, I have noticed that occasionally the system will
resume successfully. This isn't repeatable, and I've seen no common
theme to this. It appears completely random, happening about 1 time in
15 or so. Any suggestions on how to further debug this would be much
appreciated, as I've come to the end of my patience with this.

For me, no suspend/resume in Intrepid is a deal-breaker. This will be 2
releases in a row now where Ubuntu has been unusable (at a practical
level) on my hardware. I like new features as much as the next guy, but
honestly, we need this thing to actually work sometimes.
