Strange new development. I was playing around with hibernate and sleep, and after hibernating the computer then starting it back up, I once noticed it gave me a notice that the battery was fully charged! So I pulled the plug, and now it is recognizing my battery! While plugged in I get this:
cat /proc/acpi/battery/*/* alarm: unsupported present: yes design capacity: 3700 mAh last full capacity: 3700 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 12376 mV design capacity warning: 300 mAh design capacity low: 30 mAh capacity granularity 1: 32 mAh capacity granularity 2: 32 mAh model number: NS1P3SZNJSWR serial number: 1160 battery type: LION OEM info: SANYO present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charged present rate: 0 mA remaining capacity: 3700 mAh present voltage: 12375 mV While unplugged I get this: cat /proc/acpi/battery/*/* alarm: unsupported present: yes design capacity: 3700 mAh last full capacity: 3700 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 12376 mV design capacity warning: 300 mAh design capacity low: 30 mAh capacity granularity 1: 32 mAh capacity granularity 2: 32 mAh model number: NS1P3SZNJSWR serial number: 1160 battery type: LION OEM info: SANYO present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 2792 mA remaining capacity: 3674 mAh present voltage: 12129 mV Really quite odd. It doesn't tell me how much battery I have time left, but at least it does let me know what percentage of the battery I have. When I go to System > Prefs > Power Managment, It still doesn't give me a tab for 'On Battery' not sure what all this means, but hope this helps some. The log file: /var/log/acpid doesn't give anything different than the last time.
