Public bug reported: I use a Microsoft wireless keyboard. When I am in console mode, my kernel keeps showing messages exactly like to those described in the Fedora bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=141505 :
atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xd9 on isa0060/serio0). atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e059 <keycode>' to make it known. They are frequent and make it frustrating to use my computer. Please do one of the following fixes. 1. Do not show these messages onscreen at all. This is the best idea. 2. Or, show a message for each unknown key on the keyboard only once per boot. 3. Or, show a maximum of 10 unknown-key messages per day. In all the above cases, the messages would still be logged. If someone wants to see them, they can tail -f /var/log/messages . 4. Or do you have a better idea? Please suggest it. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Please reduce onscreen display of unknown-keycode messages; they're annoying https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289987 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
