Hello, I've tested an Agfa Snapscan e52 scanner with kubuntu 8.10 (release candidate) and found the scanner to work without issue.
sane-find-scanner found the device: found USB scanner (vendor=0x06bd [AGFA], product=0x20fd [ SNAPSCAN e52 ]) at libusb:004:002 /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf required modification to point to the snape52.bin firmware. "scanimage -L" listed the device: device `snapscan:libusb:004:002' is a AGFA SNAPSCAN e52 flatbed scanner An image was captured with: $ scanimage -d snapscan:libusb:004:002 > image.pnm This can be converted to jpeg with the "netpbm" package: $ ppmtojpeg image.pnm > image.jpeg Use of a graphical SANE frontend worked as expected, I tried Skanlite (a KDE4 app). I'd suggest this bug be closed and marked as fixed.
