Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic
The kernel contains the obsolete "podxtpro" driver for access to Line6 hardware. The driver has been renamed to "line6usb" since more devices are supported now. Users keep reporting problems to me if they manually upgrade the driver to the most recent version since due to the name change they have both instances running on their machines then, which messes up the USB subsystem. The most recent version of the "line6usb" driver can be found at this URL: http://www.tanzband-scream.at/line6 Moreover, the driver is included in the directory "kernel/drivers/media/video", which is not really appropriate. It should better be in some audio section, or in "kernel/drivers/usb/misc" if nothing else fits. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- obsolete Line6 driver included https://launchpad.net/bugs/72159 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
