Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.10 rc (as of Oct 24) IBM Thinkpad X31
Intrepid Ibex RC is not remembering wireless preference on restart. It automatically searches for wireless network, but doesn't remember which network I was using at shutdown, (which I believe is one of the preferences it's supposed to remember). On startup, it searches for wireless signal, then presents a dialog box displaying a network (though not the last one used), and asking for password (and this also has a bug in it in that the password field is pre-populated, and wont clear. ie. when the dialog box opens, the drop- down options shows WAP or personal or whatever, and the text-field for the password is full of dots which wont clear through back-spacing, at least not for the first 5 seconds. Placing the cursor at the end of line, then hitting backspace returns the cursor to the beginning of the line, leaving the pre-populated text-field intact instead of clearing the field). I bypass the problem by closing the pop-up dialog, clicking on the network icon in the top panel, and selecting the appropriate network. All is ok after that. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Intrepid Ibex RC doesn't remember wireless preference https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289354 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
