dell inspiron 6400 laptop with intel graphics card.

upgraded to edgy. The 2.6.17-10-generic kernel no longer allows to
control the backlight display change of intensity. Niether via hot keys
nor with other programs like kpowersave that consider this computer not
to be able to change its display intensity.
If I start edgy with the previous kernel then I can control the
intensity via the hot keys without problem.
