Hi Alexander Sack, I now longer use the give 'network-manager_0.7-- svn20081004t225044-0ubuntu1_i386.deb'
Simply removing it [network-manager_0.7-- svn20081004t225044-0ubuntu1_i386.deb] - resolved the problems with my Intranet and Network system. I suffered a major 'down-time' with this update that took down most of my multiple workstation access to my networked Broadband Services. I needed a fast solution. So..... I used Google to troubleshoot and 'act' on the results of other Ubuntu users with a similar problem. Problem resolved by removal of above application (the older version did work fine)!
