No luck - after the most recent updates, it doesn't appear to install the driver correctly into the kernel. That is to say that dmesg makes no mention of 'fglrx' or 'ATI' phrases. I tried booting all available kernels and behavior was the same for each. Also tried reinstalling in each with the same results -- nothing.
