Hi Bryce, Actually I've also put some other customization to my xorg.conf I've deactivated since then, such as the RenderAccel option, or AddRGBGlxToVisual.
For the exact backingstore issue, you should have a look at the following : http://forum.kde.org/showthread.php?tid=6721&pid=7344#pid7344 My Xorg.0.log file has been purged then since updates.
