Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
It is possible to have icons on the panel which share resources. When a change is made to the launch command of one it will become visible in the other after a reboot (probably also relogin). How to reproduce. - Install Intrepid (Beta), or Hardy. - click control drag the firefox icon into the panel (a + sign cursor will appear) to make a copy. - right click select properties. - Edit the command such as by adding "--no-remote -P profile2" before %u - be happy until next reboot - reboot - notice that the original firefox icon now is changed to be the same as its copy (additional changes to the original or the copy will affect both after logging in again). The same can be done by changing the icon. I'm testing whether it is possible to reproduce this in other ways than by copying the original firefox icon (I immediately erase the other two default icons). $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 $ apt-cache policy gnome-panel gnome-panel: Installed: 1:2.24.0-0ubuntu9 Candidate: 1:2.24.0-0ubuntu9 Version table: *** 1:2.24.0-0ubuntu9 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I also saw this problem on hardy several times I can't remember if it happened beforehand, but I always seem to trigger it. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome panel after copy changes to one icon affect the other https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
