I wanted to note that the vmware virtual machine that I'm using is running on an ntfs partition, vmware is running with root privileges and the vmx file has a line added that says: "mainMem.useNamedFile=FALSE"
This so that it doesn't give me any issues when running in the ntfs partition. I'm currently testing the same virtual machine on the same ubuntu partition without that line and without sudo permissions to vmware.
