I think that this bug is a duplicate of bug 256629 related with the wireless card. Can you add log files for Hardy and Intrepid ? About the screen black, can you report a new bug associated to xserver-xorg-video-intel package and attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file ? Thank you.
