Public bug reported:

After upgrading to the beta release of Intrepid Ibex, my sound stopped
working, both at login and after. When I go to the sound preferences
dialog box, I have selected my sound card, Intel 82801CA0ICH3 with
AD1881A (ALSA). Upon testing this (clicking on the "Probar" button, as
my computer is set to be in Spanish), I get the following error message:

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink: No se pudo abrir el dispositivo de audio para
reproducción.

If instead I select "Intel 82801CA0ICH3 with AD1881A (OSS)", I simply
get no sound, but no error message either.

In terms of hardware, I'm running the beta release 8.10 on an IBM
Thinkpad A31. Any fixes/workarounds?

Jim
