My problems with a Pavilion dv7-1015eg are looking similar: 1. On Hardy and Intrepid I discover "a kind of repetition of a short clip...". 2. On Hardy I have success with the noapic boot option 3. On Intrepid this does not work any longer. "noacpi" and "pci=noacpi" are not working too.
If I move my mouse with is connected to a USB port, the sound is ok! - if I let the mouse alone, the sound shows the kind of repetition again...
