That state happens rarely, but once it does the problems occurs often until the USB system is reinitialized. + (And as I point it out, rather than waiting that this bug be solved by chance, it would be a good idea to send me some USB test procedure to find where the problem lies when it happens again) + Using Ubuntu 8.04.1 on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 with USB hub shown below. Often, when I plug a device to the hub, nothing happens. This lasts as long as I decide (minutes). Then I type the lsusb command, showing no device indeed. That simple fact (issuing lsusb) connects the device. A subsequent lsusb command shows the device connected. More details available on request. Contact welcome with developper to run tests.
