I have had the same problem. When clicking on Calendar on gnome task bar, the whole task bar freezes.
For some reason, when I click on the gnome calendar on the task bar, near the shutdown button, the while task bar freezes. I can’t then select any of my programs or open menus from the task bar until I reset ubuntu from within the terminal “sudo shutdown –r now” It seems to happen when I was setting evolution to connect to the google calendar. It seem to start happening after that.
