Public bug reported: I have a Belkin F9T013xx1 bluetooth USB dongle, which works perfectly in Windows XP using the Belkin driver.
It was working before, I think on Ubuntu 6.10 or maybe 7.04. After that it stopped working, and I never bothered to find out why because I didn't really need it. Now I am on 8.10 beta, and I decided to try again, and it is still not working. I have tried various USB ports, and every time I plug in the device the blue LED lights up for a few seconds and then switches off. The dmesg output is as follows: [ 2285.272049] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6 [ 2285.392113] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 2285.616084] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 2285.832067] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7 [ 2285.952104] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 2286.176136] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 2286.396079] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8 [ 2286.808099] usb 1-2: device not accepting address 8, error -71 [ 2286.920080] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 9 [ 2287.328196] usb 1-2: device not accepting address 9, error -71 [ 2287.328637] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 I have various other USB devices connected, like an external HD and a webcam, and they work fine. The computer is a HP Pavilion dv1668ea laptop with 4 usb ports, of which one is occupied by the embedded webcam. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Belkin F8T013xx1 bluetooth dongle does not accept usb address, error -71 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286917 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
