Hello, I upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04 2 days ago, and I am having the same issues described here. In addition sometimes I am no longer able to click on the menus bars to access applications. I can still move the menu bars around, but clicking on Applications only depresses the button...the list of applications never appear, then I will have issues when I am no longer able to type in any application (although I can still hit ctrl+alt+bksp to kill X11). A logout or a reboot usually fixes this problem temporarily. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 running 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP with a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG wireless card which I am always using. Please let me know if there is any more info that I can provide that would be useful.
