My only problem on 2.6.24-12 is that wlan0 disappear after reboot. I remove module r8180, then compile driver, then start up interface: sudo ./wlan0up
Now it start working! then sudo cp -r ieee80211/*.ko /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ sudo cp rtl8185/r8180.ko /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ then sudo depmod -a sudo modprobe r8180 reboot and...do it all again :-( because interface wlan0 does not exist after starup.
