I can confirm this issue. I have tested this using a Dapper hard installation and the LiveCD as well as with a Edgy hard install and LiveCD. Installing gpass in Dapper (and I believe also in Hoary, although I did not test that) sets the launcher preference (found by clicking Edit, the Preferences, then the Launchers tab) for "general" to be "gnome-open @hostname@" by default. In both the Edgy hard install and LiveCD, the preference is missing causing the error given above.
