I also own a T2010 - I am using Intrepid Beta. Observations...

* Fn (F6&F7) keys bring up onscreen applet and change the values but the
brightness doesn't change.
* related - the values change two steps at a time - both up and down.
* xbacklight can be called directly using get & set, but again no change in
brightness.
* unplugging AC causes onscreen applet to pop up showing change to half value -
no change in brightness. Resets to full when plugging AC back in.
* observing /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/LCD/brightness I can see the values changing
when using any of the above methods.

It appears the mechanisms for changing the brightness work - but the
brightness itself does not change.

I was using Hardy previously and the brightness changed when using xbacklight
or un/plugging the AC power - so this is a regression.
The onscreen applet and Fn keys previously did not work - so there has been an
improvement in 'functionality' but it would be nice if the brightness actually
adjusted. This will of course have a reasonable impact on battery life if not
fixed.

I am happy to provide more info or run tests if required.

Love the work everyone is doing - keep it up!
