Excuse for English, is Italian. I would want to make a multiboot. In mine hardisk there is partition C: , where I have installed windows xp. In an other partition I wanted to put ubuntu. The partition of ubuntu is subdivided in swap and \ root respecting the minimal measures. At last Ubuntu puts automatically grub in (hd0) and begins after the installation. They are a beginner, like I can install GRUB where I want I, like you have made you? Thanks for the aid

Was it an ATA drive partition (hda etc) or and S-ATA drive partition (sda etc)? On my laptop which is S-ATA only I got grub to install where I told it, but not on my mixed system. -- installer crashed: GrubInstaller failed with code 1 https://launchpad.net/bugs/71627 -- installer crashed: GrubInstaller failed with code 1 https://launchpad.net/bugs/71627 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
