Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
Compared to Windows (where I am usually logged in to my WPA2 encrypted WiFi network immediately), it takes ages for me to log in to my network. When booting my uptodate Intrepid, I am asked to enter the password for my network several times, because it does never connect. After, say, four times, it says "disconnected" in the tray and I have to click on the network-manager icon, select my network again, and do the same procedure another time. After a couple of times I am finally logged in, and once I am, I do never drop out again. In about one of ten times I am immediately logged in to the network. Luckily, in contrast to older versions, my password is now at least immediately entered. A security vulnerability is, though, that one can easily read it, although only the encrypted version is displayed. My network card is a Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN network card. I am using an ASUS X55SV laptop. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Network manager takes a couple of times to connect/bad connectivity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285057 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
