I can NOT reproduce this on a fresh Kubuntu 6.10 (edgy) install, using
alternative CD, choosing US and English. My locale is en_US.UTF-8 (the
default after installation).

After installing scribus, I can start it and choose "File -> New" menu,
then in the "New Document" dialog window, change "Page Size -> Size:" to
"Custom", then change the Width: and Height: spin box at will, either by
using the up and down arrow buttons, or by just inputing numbers by
hand.

In this default setup, my "[right click] -> Select Input Method" menu
shows "XIM", if I change it to "scim", the whole scribus program
freezes. If I start scribus by "QT_IM_MODULE=scim scribus" from
terminal, the program will also freeze when I choose "File -> New" menu
to bring up the dialog window. However, I assume this is an unrelated
bug.
