That's the same procedure i followed. I think it is a problem involving only people who have added the ppa dell repository ( http://ppa.launchpad.net/dell-team/ubuntu ) to their software sources. Dell team publishes a modified version of kernel with pre-built modules useful for Dell systems. Unfortunately problems arise on kernel upgrade with packages not coming from that repo. Can you confirm this, Frank? Is Dell's repo present among your software sources or the problem arised upgrading for official to official kernel packages?
