Public bug reported: I installed the beta of Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) on a Dell Mini / Inspiron 910.
Immediately after rebooting, I ran the Update Manager, and after running for a while, it came up with a dialog box: An error occurred The following details are provided: E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it? E: _cache->open() failed, please report. So I'm reporting it. -Mason ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid Ibex 8.10] Update manager lock error after install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
