The machine I was working with was an acer aspire 1692wlmi with a radeon X600 graphics card. It died in the meantime so I cannot provide more input. Anyway, some of the improvements in http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/OneSecondX have already gone upstream so we should be taking advantage from them.
