Hmm, this looks like perhaps linux-image-2.6.25-1-powerpc64-smp wasn't in main at the time you were doing this installation. Could you test again, please (you'll have to fetch a new netboot image from archive.ubuntu.com, since the kernel ABI has changed)? I've confirmed that linux-image-2.6.25-2-powerpc64-smp is in main now.
