Public bug reported: When installing from the Edgy Alternate CD in OEM mode, based on an ISO downloaded yesterday, on the screens asking for a typed input, if you switch to caps lock, the caps lock will behave as a shift lock.
I am using a UK keyboard, without the international dead keys. This means that if typing in the hex digits from a WEP key, instead of A5:D3, you will get A%:D£. Steps to reproduce: * Download and burn the current Edgy ISO to a CD ROM * Boot it, selecting OEM installation. * Go through the locale and keyboard selection, using either select from list or by typing a few keys for autodetect. * On the wireless network screen asking for the ESSID or another screen asking for user entry, press caps lock. * Type a digit and a few letters. For example B1:A3:52 Expected: Letters in caps, and numbers left alone: B1:A3:52 Actual: Letters in caps, number keys behave as if shift was pressed: B!:A£:%" As you may gather from the reference to two different ways to select the keyboard map, this is 100% reproducable. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Edgy Alternate CD Installation and Keyboard Caps lock behaving as a shift lock https://launchpad.net/bugs/71398 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
