What architecture are you on?

And do you have the following packages installed?

openoffice.org-java-common
openoffice.org-officebean
openoffice.org-base
openoffice.org-filter-mobiledev
openoffice.org-common

Those are the packages that have symlinks in that directory. If you do
have everything installed and you are on a platform that supports java
for openoffice.org (like i386 or amd64) then reinstalling all the
openoffice.org packages might resolve the problem for you. Powerpc for
example does not work properly with java on openoffice.org so has java
disabled.
