I solved this problem by creating a simple rule in the Windows Behaviour, under System settings. I simply set, for any type of normal window, to remeber the size. It works well, but I think this should be the standard behaviour. Maybe it's possible to put a similar rule in the standard kde default settings for Kubuntu?
