You have been subscribed to a public bug: The Adept installer makes broken packages if one forgets to confirm the Java license. After this you are unable to install or upgrade any new packages until the Java package is removed OR installed with a confirmed license.
My view is, that this is not user friendly and very frustrating when you don't know what causes the problem. I found out what was wrong after reading through the whole license. Well... almost! ;-) Anyways, my conclusion is - failing to tick one small checkbox (or the like) shouldn't prevent the installation of other packages. Somebody please correct this in the Java packages as well as others.
