I could see the point of 'many end users don't know how to install a package without its recommendations', but those users will use gnome-app-install which will install wesnoth-all, so changing dependencies in wesnoth won't change anything for them (and for anybody who uses gnome-app-install), so now that I think better about this, I think it's ok to leave it as is. BTW, I like the idea of switching wesnoth to -core and wesnoth-all to wesnoth.
