Public bug reported: Hello,
I got a 15.4" laptop with an NVIDIA graphics adapter, and I started to test Intrepid beta. When I use uvesafb module, the maximum resolution I can get on console is 1024x768 (that is 48 lines by 128 columns). Yet if I use the nvidiafb module, I can get 1280x800 resolution (50 lines by 160 columns). The problem is that I cannot use the nvidiafb module because it conflicts with the non-free nvidia module. ie. if the system tries to load the nvidia module while the nvidiafb is in use, I get this error: Oct 10 22:14:04 ants kernel: [ 65.062904] NVRM: The NVIDIA probe routine was not called for 1 device(s).
