Public bug reported: I'm running Intrepid on a Dell Inspiron 1501. While most of the function keys work fine, the mute key does not. This is quite annoying as I use it a lot (in lectures for example) and I currently either have to use the gui to mute it or just drop the volume til it's muted.
When I checked the gnome keyboard shortcuts window, mute is set to 0xa0, but when I hit the function key it comes up as XF86AudioMute. Changing the key in the shortcut menu enables the mute function. The battery status key does not work either, but that could be due to another bug reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi/+bug/270017 . The key to open the cd/dvd tray also does not work, but shows up correctly in the shortcuts menu. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Some function key do not work on Dell Inspiron 1501 Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
