After some readings and after finding other users with the same problem it seems to be related to the spca5xx drivers which badly support the Philips SPC 600 NC webcam.
According to the thread below the spca5xx driver don't support the automatic setting of the contrast and brightness which leave the image dark and the webcam unusable under linux.
