Binary package hint: vlc-plugin-pulse
I automatically updated this package on Oct. 7, and whenever I try to
play music, or when I login to Ubuntu static plays instead of music.
Occasionally, a bit will come through but it's mostly static and across
all applications not just VLC.
I forced a downgrade and my sound is back to normal.
Problem Package:
vlc-plugin-pulse 0.8.6.release.e+x264svn20071224+faad2.6.1-0ubuntu3.2
My OS:
Ubuntu 8.04.1
My hardware is 5.1 surround sound from an ASUS M2N-SLI motherboard (and
the surround sound is currently not working with pulse anyways).
